Phulkari
Phulkari, meaning "flower work", is a vibrant folk embroidery of the Punjab worked in floss silk on coarse cotton. Traditionally stitched by women for family milestones, its dense darning stitches form geometric and floral fields of colour.
Master artisan Alina Hashim has revived Phulkari motifs once thought lost.
